TRISKEL CLAY · EAST BOSTON, MA · CONE 10

Made by hand.It shows, onpurpose.

Run a thumb around one of our rims and you'll find the wheel's rings still in the clay. Mugs, bowls, planters and vases, thrown on Bennington Street and fired to cone 10. No molds. No seconds. The price on the tag is the price.

01 — THE COLLECTION

Twelve shapes made the cut.
Hundreds didn't.

THE FOUR HOUSE GLAZES

We mix the recipe. The flame signs it.

EVERY FORM × EVERY GLAZE · NO UPCHARGE
TenmokuFE₂O₃ SATURATE

Black as a skillet until the fire finds an edge. Then: ember.

Celadon1% IRON, REDUCED

The grey-green of the harbor in March, pooling wherever the wheel left rings.

Bone SpeckleBODY IRON BLOOM

A warm white the clay freckles from underneath. We couldn't paint that if we tried.

EmberFLAME-FLASHED

Orange where the flame passed. Umber where it stayed.

02 — THE PROCESS

Our stamp is
a flowchart.

The triple spiral under every foot is a working diagram, not a logo: earth gets blended, water throws it, fire has the last word. Start to shelf takes about three weeks, and no turn of it gets hurried.

I.

Earth — iron-rich stoneware

Three stonewares and a fist of native iron, blended in-house. Every batch is wedged by hand and rested a full week—clay remembers how it was treated, and ours is treated well.

II.

Water — thrown, never molded

Every form is pulled on a slow wheel—there isn't a mold in the building. Twelve shapes, each the survivor of a few hundred attempts, trimmed to a foot worth flipping over.

III.

Fire — cone 10 reduction

Fired twice: a bisque, then fourteen hours in reduction. We starve the flame of oxygen, it raids the glazes for more, and it pays us back in color no two pieces share.
